Immigration

The first priority is to secure the border. The federal government must adhere to its constitutional mandate and do this rather than make excuses. Some of the companies that were hired to secure the border have failed, and continuing to fund these companies only further delays true border security. Whether you agree or not with Arizona’s immigration law, the federal government is responsible for securing the border and they have failed. With the recent events in Arizona, illegal immigration is an issue that we need to discuss and have a firm grasp of in our policies.

Government Health Care
I am opposed to having your health care taken over by the U.S. government. Having bureaucracy managing health care is inherently risky for your health and welfare. Our government is not set up to run a massive health care system and to assume that bureaucracy can suddenly acquire expertise in the area is dangerous.

Issues

Budget
I cannot and will not vote for any increased spending or increase of the debt limit and further put you, the voter, in worse shape than you are now. Furthermore, I plan on being the leader that will stand up for you and your tax dollars. Currently our national debt is $14.1 trillion. One year ago it was $11.3 trillion. As long as we allow Congress to increase the federal debt at their own choosing, the American people will become indentured servants along with their children and grandchildren to pay off the insurmountable debt.

The Economy
One of my top priorities will be to ease the restrictions on businesses in Sacramento and allow companies to move back here with confidence that the government will not over-regulate or overtax them. Until we reign in the over-taxing and over-regulation of government, we will not have any lasting recovery or job creation in California and in the Fifth Congressional District.
